Netflix’s Christmas Movie Lineup For 2020 Is Honestly Perfect
No, its never too early to start watching Christmas movies.
It’s finally the holiday season, and it could not have come any sooner, and Netflix is keen on getting us in the spirit starting two weeks from now. They’re dropping everything from cheesy flicks to sing-a-long musicals guaranteed to make you feel warm and fuzzy. Yes, we can’t relate to the snowy wintery vibe, but we can relate to the spirit of Christmas!
Here’s the complete movie line-up:
1. Holidate (28th October)
Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey are not fans of being asked about their love life by their families during the holiday season, so they decide to be each other’s plus-ones for all events. We all know how this movie ends, and yet we can’t wait to watch it.
2. Operation Christmas Drop (5th November)
Erica Miller is chasing a promotion, so she chooses to drop her traditional Christmas plans and takes a work trip with her boss to defund an airforce base where she meets and clashes with Captain Andrew Jantz, a classic storyline.
3. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (13th November)
A festive musical set in the fictional town of Cobbleton, home to famous toymaker Jeronicus Jangle. However things take a turn for the worse when Jeronicus’ ex-apprentice steals his most prized invention and it’s up to his granddaughter Journey to save the day, with her magic robot Buddy of course.
4. The Princess Switch: Switched Again (19th November)
Vanessa Hudgens is back with a sequel. This time there is a third doppelgänger Margaret’s party-girl cousin Fiona. Ah, the predictable chaos, and accidental run-ins, what good fun!
5. Dolly Parton’s Christmas On The Square (November 22nd)
The queen of country music herself, Dolly Parton has partnered with Netflix to bring us the ultimate Christmas musical movie. The plot has a rich woman named Regina, who, following her father’s death, inherits his land and the small town she grew up in. Her scrooge-like plans to evict everyone during Christmas season changes when runs into an angel (and angel played by Parton herself, no less), and is encouraged to embrace the holiday spirit. Nothing like a “Christmas is saved” movies to bring a smile to our faces.
6. The Christmas Chronicles : Part Two (25th November)
Two years since Kate and Teddy Pierce saved Christmas, there have been some changes. Kate is now a classic teenager with all that teen angst, and is spending Christmas with her mum’s new boyfriend and his son Jack.
She’s not exactly keen on this new modern family dynamic, however she puts her troubles aside when a troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good and Kate is back to save the day! Children saving Christmas is a plot that never gets old.
7. Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker (27th November)
Shondaland (aka creator of Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder and Scandal) and Netflix are collaborating for the first time ever and bring us Dance Dreams: Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, and honestly that’s enough for us to look forward to this movie.
It’s going to be a documentary that follows film and stage star Debbie Allen and her Los Angeles dance studio as they prepare for their annual holiday presentation, Hot Chocolate Nutcracker. Sounds like something that’s going to be slightly different from the usual.
