As Dua Lipa said, “Let’s get physical.”

Schedule the time in

Add your daily workout to your calendar to keep yourself accountable. If you don’t have a structured routine in the day then it can be super easy to click “yes, I’m still watching” until it’s time for bed. Choose a half an hour or hour slot in your day where you can put everything else aside and get your workout in.

Get a plan

It’s all about routine. You can use apps or youtube channels or fitness websites to pick a training plan that works for you. You should consider your body and fitness level when decided on a plan, ask yourself what you want to gain from these fitness sessions:

  • Is it less about getting fit and more about mindfulness? Maybe try incorporating yoga into your home routine and choosing a walk or jog outside as your one bit of outside exercise per day.

  • Is it about maintaining your muscles? Consider buying some free weights and adding more protein into your diet.

  • Are you injured at all? Look for workouts that avoid this area and make sure to use a support if you need it.

  • Is your flat not on the ground floor? You’ll probably want to look for a routine that doesn’t involve jumping.

There are plenty of things to consider when choosing a routine, it just depends on what’s important to you. A good all rounder place to start is The Body Coach, we’d definitely recommend following him on Instagram for great advice and a hell of a lot of motivation.
