Spooky season is here and it’s time to bring out the popcorn and stream some horror-flicks.

1. The Invitation (2016)

The scariest kind of horror films is the ones that are born from moments that could very much be happening in your own life. The Invitation is just that, Will and his girlfriend accept an invitation to a dinner party with his ex-wife, her new husband, and friends. The evening quickly turns suspicious and will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

2. The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)

The sequel to The Babysitter, this one continues with Cole Johnson moving into high school and trying to leave the past behind or so he thought. However, his babysitter killer friends have other plans.

3. Ratched (2020)

It’s not the scariest on the list, but it’s definitely eerie and gruesome. The killings and psychological games orchestrated by one of the best on-screen villains deserve a spot on this list.

4. #Alive (2020)

In this South Korean zombie film, Oh Jun-u finds out there in an outbreak spreading nationwide, with infected showing signs of cannibalism (yay zombies!). After days of social isolation, he discovers his neighbour Kim Yu-bin is still around and they try to find a way to escape together.

5. Hush (2016)

This slasher film is about a deaf writer living in the woods, who encounters a masked killer. You know it’s going to be a nail-biter when it’s directed by Mike Flanagan, who's known for his work in Gerald's Game and Before I Wake.

6. The Haunting Of Hill House

First, of the Haunting House anthropology series, the show has 2 seasons packed with supernatural horror to fill all your creepy, scary and spooky cravings for Halloween!

7. I Am That Pretty Thing That Lives In The House

A classic plot, of a gothic house and a lonely old person that needs to be taken care of and a young person who then discovers that the house is haunted. Sometimes, a predictable plot is quite enjoyable don’t you think?

8. The Haunting of Bly Manor

It’s about a young governess hired by a man to look after his niece and nephew at the family country house after they fall into his care but things take a haunting turn.

9. Don’t Breathe

Three troublemakers break into the house of a Gulf War veteran, thinking stealing from him would be easy since he is blind. However, it doesn’t take them long to regret their decision to rob him when they realise that he is not as defenceless as he seems.

10. Rebecca

It’s not exactly scary, but it’s definitely creepy and eerie that’s for sure. Its an adaptation Daphne DuMaurier’s chilling iconic novel where a young woman marries a wealthy widower. However, when she moves into his country estate, Manderley, she quickly realises that their home and their marriage are haunted by the memory of his dead wife, Rebecca. Angry ex-wife, and living people obsessed with her? It’s a yes from us!
