These Are Top 10 TikToks Australians Loved The Most In 2020

It is safe to say that TikTok dominated all of our spare time this year, from attempting (and failing!) dance challenges to laughing at funny videos and rolling our eyes at the controversial ones.

According to TikTok’s end of year data, here are the 10 favourite TikToks Aussies could not stop watching.

1. Bella Porch’s Now Iconic Head Bobbing..

Even if you caved and downloaded TikTok for a day, you’ve probably seen this video, with a whopping 45 million likes, it’s the most liked video in Australia and the most liked video on the app too. We don’t know what it is, but her face zoom videos just work for the app, and honestly, good for her!

2. Addison Rae, doing the savage challenge with her mom?

Out of all Addison Rae’s videos this year, we are surprised this one is her most liked video in Australia, but hey if it’s the mother-daughter bond or the most popular dance challenge this year is what you love, that sure why not.

3. Michael Le Scaring Shoppers With His Love For Shakira

@justmaiko

our performances be so good, its scary😳🤣 @javierr

♬ Hips Don't Lie - Miguel González

This one makes so much more sense, a good prank is always well appreciated down under and honestly, if this was filmed here we think the others on the escalators would have probably joined in! Ah, love a good Shakira jam session.

4. The Inspired Unemployed accurate prediction of post-lockdown life

Not much got done today on the job site #blindinglights

Coming in fourth is one of the funniest Aussie creators on TikTok the Inspired unemployed’s video recreates being on the job but having TikTok challenges haunt whilst you work. Honestly, we can totally relate.

5. The Woah challenge, not designed to be replicated.

@demibagby

Stand up challenge!!! #wedidit #fun #standupchallenge #challenge @scott_mathison_ @gymshark

♬ Woah - KRYPTO9095

Normally when you see a challenge, you at least TRY to give it a go but this one was intense enough to earn itself a “do not try this at home” warning but how impressive and bloody mind-blowing is this video? Well deserved to be in the Top 10.

6. If humans were as territorial as dogs, apparently it would be entertaining as hell.

Australian comedy duo Marty and Michael really nailed this one on the head. Not going to lie, this video, the Tony & Ezekiel video and so many other pets thought interpretation was definitely our favourite genre of videos on TikTok.

7. Harmonies sent from the heavens

So Australia couldn’t get enough of Kiwi Jamayne Feast harmonising and singing “Flee Fly Flo” with his mates but we totally understand why. How soothing does it sound, we’ve listened to it like 50 times already.

8. The Wiggles, doing the renegade?

We would be shocked if a renegade video didn’t make it on this list, but we did not expect the Renegade video to be The Wiggles doing the challenge. Bizzare? Sure. Entertaining? Of course! So I guess it makes sense.

9. Playing catch, 1000 ft off the ground.

@howridiculous

😳 Catching ⚽️ from 1000 feet 🚁

Aussie trickshot lords How Ridiculous made it to the list by attempting and succeeding by throwing a ball from 1000 ft and catching it before it hits the ground. They definitely earned their way on the list!

10. Charli D’Amelio supporting the Black Lives Matter Movement

When the world came to a standstill after George Floyd’s death, Charli being the most followed person on TikTok took to her platform in support of the movement and hoping to spread more awareness regarding racial inequality and Aussies were amongst the 19 million that supported her message.

That’s all folks! If this random, entertaining and awareness-spreading set of videos don’t sum up 2020 accurately, then we don’t know what will.

We and our For You Pages are ready for you 2021, please bless us with some quality content!.
