This Trick Will Get You Twice As Many Netflix Shows

Isn't it the most annoying thing when you see people in the US raving about a show on Netflix but it's on Netflix AU? Yea, same.

There is an easy way to unlock the shows that don't show up on your Netflix account.

Who's are entertainment depriving nemesis? It's called geo-blocking but can also be banished by the power of VPNs.

Basically, because of licensing agreements sometimes some shows and movies are bound to other streaming services or dont have permits in certain countries.

The way Netflix and other streaming services identify what content you can and cannot access is via your IP address - so change your IP address and access more.

How do I change my IP address?

Simple use a VPN extension on your Chrome browser or download a VPN that can relocate your IP address to a country of your choice and that way you can access any show that is available in that country!

That's not all, you can also save heaps of money using simple and smart hacks when it comes to spending on streaming services.

Stan, Netflix, Binge, Paramount+, Apple TV, Prime Video, Rakuten Vikidamn, there are so many streaming services you can pick from! However, there are some simple ways you can save on your streaming costs without compromising watching all your favourite shows.

1. Figure out which services you can cancel

Drop the ones you're not using. For example, I'm a Disney fan but I hadn't watched a Disney movie in months, so why keep a subscription around when you're not even using it on the daily? Also, keep track of your free trials, have you exhausted your free trial and forgotten to unsubscribe before they started to charge you? It might save you $10-$15 a month, which may not seem like a lot but it adds up!

2. Plan your binges

Most shows now release all their episodes at once, OR if you have the patience you can even wait till the season is over. Basically, make a list of all the shows you want to watch and milk one subscription at a time. Dinsey+ In Feb, Netflix in March, Binge in April etc. For the same reason I don't recommend getting a yearly subscription - this isn’t the place you test your ability to commit. Subscribe "on-demand" and save heaps every year.

The best solution is to work out a rotation schedule, choose just one streaming service, catch up on all your favourite shows there, then cancel and move on to another service. Simple!

3. Free trials are your best friend

This goes without saying, milk all your free trials - use your personal and student id, find the best deals and save money. Do your research though because sometimes you can get longer trials, discounted rates if you have other services, bank accounts etc. For example, if you have a Telstra service you can get binge free for 3-months instead of a week. Plus you can get free Apple TV if you subscribe to Apple Music as a student - keep your eyes peeled.

4. Choose basic, non-premium subscriptions

You know how Netflix gives you an option of HD vs 4K, honestly, you'll only be able to tell if you have a massive tv/projector but for your laptop and sharehouse TV, it honestly doesn't change much. So don't fall for the better quality narrative and spend more. Plus, don't bother getting subscriptions that allow more screen use - your ex, siblings and friends can leech off someone else!

5. Barter subscriptions

Wager with your friends and family, if you get one service they can over the other. That way everyone gets access but nobody is spending a fortune!

Another way to save on streaming services is by making money to watch Netflix - a whopping 95k! It’s a yes from me.
