Qantas To Pull Nearly All International Flights Until March 2021
Qantas has removed almost all international flights from its website until March 2021.
CEO of Qantas Alan Joyce said, before mid-2021 if they do re-launch their international flights, it will be in a βtravel bubbleβ with New Zealand and potentially other selective countries unless COVID-19 is globally under control before then.
However, international flights booked before mid-2021 will be valid. The website only prevents customers from making new bookings. Historically when an airline removes flight availability/inventory from its website, it mostly leads to flight cancellations or significant changes in process/product.
If they do they cancel flights, customers will be entitled to either a full refund or travel credit valid up to December 2022. If the customer chooses, they can use the travel credit across multiple flights.
March 2021 will mark a full year since Qantas would have grounded their international flights and the company does not expect to get back into its full network of international flights anytime soon. CEO Alan Joyce also believes that it will be years before international flights go back to what they were pre-COVID-19.
