The orientation

Orientation is an overwhelming event to attend, especially if it’s your first time.

You’ll see students from all courses and faculties zooming around. While you’re introducing yourself where you can (and scouring for your course mates), ladies can don a a Vintage Paratrooper pair of camo pants, with an EN ES white top with black piping. The contrast works wonders and is super on trend right now. Plus, it’s just enough effort while keeping casual, cool and collected.

For guys on the block, a simple yet heavy-weight Shaka Wear black tee with distressed Saint Morta biker jeans makes a statement. It’s a mix of done-up and casual thrown in together. It’ll make you feel super comfortable, while showing off an edge to your sense of style.

The welcome week fair

Welcome week is the chance to show off your interests, sign up for societies, and…grab all the freebies you can get!

For this event, we love the idea of a bold approach, such as this DXXMLIFE Titan Eren Yeager tee from the Attack on Titan series. It’s an especially fun look if you’re into the series or anime in general. Pair it up with one of our recommended cargo pants (we love the Carre Transition black cargo joggers) to feel like you’re part of the Survey Corps (or as close as you can get). For the lads, we’ve got MNML waxed denim cargo pants as an alternative fit.

If anime doesn’t float your boat, check out the rest of the DXXMLIFE collection on Culture Kings. Created by UK rapper Scarlxrd, you can find modern, edgy and stark aesthetics with other forms of popular media thrown in there to suit a variety of tastes.

The first day of lectures

This is the day you’ll get to meet everyone on your course. Daunting, we know! But fear not, because we’ve got the ‘fits to make you feel like the best version of yourself.

We’ve gone for a polo neck theme here, sourcing this ellesse bodysuit in a white and dark blue contrast, and paired it with some 404 Harbour plisse pants in a similar shade to the collar to tie them together. Pair them with your favourite chunky white sneakers and you’ve got a look that’s both smart, casual and comfortable to wear all-day long.

For the lads, we’ve gone for a bold green Fred Perry polo tee, paired with some black Saint Morta skinny jeans. If you’ve got a pair of chelseas, loafers or converse to finish it off, then you’re good to go. If polos aren’t your thing, Culture Kings has a variety of styles to choose from such as jerseys, button-ups, crop tees and much more.

The house party

House parties are the perfect time to really get to know other students who live in your halls of residence. And what better way than to get conversations started than through your outfit!

We recommend starting with something simple, like a band tee of an artist you really like. We love the style of this YUNGBLUD Life On Mars tee, and while it says it’s a women’s style, you can certainly wear it no matter your gender. Pair it wiith one of our recommended pants such as these black Kappa dyfen pants, or the 404 Harbour plisse black pants

Not feeling the music vibe? We believe that films unite all. Take this striking Cruella shirt that literally speaks “I love Disney”, or check out the rest of their Disney-inspired pieces if you’re feeling another type of film in the franchise. Take it an extra step further by wearing this Kingdom Hearts t-shirt that features Disney characters as well as an iconic Square Enix game (assuming you’ve played it, that is).

The night out

The first night out as a fresher is always the most exciting. For ladies we have these striking storm camo track joggers by The Anti Order, that you can pair up with a black Tommy Jeans cropped waistband top. The look gives off a sporty-cool vibe that people are bound to take notice of and compliment.

For the lads, we have a layered look consisting of a Dead Studios tropics party button up shirt — but we’ll be leaving this unbuttoned to reveal the Saint Morta Annex El Duplo white tee beneath. Finish this off with the Saint Morta thrashed shorts, then you’ve got a look that literally screams “let’s party!”.

The hangover

For those who had one too many (or don’t drink and just simply stayed up way too late), you’re not going to be feeling your best. If you still want to wear something stylish while keeping your overall mood on the down low, wear this Playboy bucket hat to keep the rays off and a black Saint Morta hoodie to keep warm and comfortable. To keep it all balanced, we love the hoodie-shorts look, so we’ve got a pair of mens Saint Morta waffle black shorts, or a pair of adidas black contrast bike shorts for the ladies.

If you’re heading out, be sure to keep your footwear comfy during this delicate time (dramatic, we know), and opt for sneakers with plenty of cushion.
