Here’s When Australia Is Predicted To Hit 70% Of First Dose Vax Rates
We’re all looking for to hitting that 70% mark, but how long will that exactly take? ABC’s journalist and math genius Casey Briggs has crunched the numbers for us!
Some background for you, Scomo has said that when 70% of the Australian population has had their first jab, we will be able to move to the next stage of reopening the country aka no lockdowns and when we hit the 80% mark will mark the easing of travel restrictions.
Since we got no anticipated timeline for this goal for Scott Morisson, Casey Briggs did us all a favour and gave us a timeline that shows when each state, territory and the whole of Australia will reach the 70% and 80% mark of the first dose. Let’s just say “2022 will be our year!”
These numbers were based on the current vaccination rates in the last 7 days, it’s worth following him on Twitter as he keeps updating the timeline!
Considering some states and territories are tracking a bit slower than others with their vaccination rates, Casey’s 70% predictions range from mid-September right through to early November.
Hey, the numbers can improve if the vaccination rates ramp up, so flex online when you get your vaccine and let the FOMO encourage more of your friends and family to get vaccinated too!
