Australia’s Running Out Of Champagne, But Here’s Where You Can Get Yours

Australia really said - no champagne, no holiday season celebrations.

Apparently, Aussies are all about the champagne life. If you're not a bubbles expert like me (I'm more of a $10 prosecco gal tbh) then Champagne is essentially prosecco but it's specifically produced in the Champagne region in France.

In Summary, it's fancy but it also comes in a fair price range starting from $40 to $4000. Seems like Aussies are keener on french sparkling rather than your local Aussie choices even if they may be a bit pricier.

Director of the Champagne Bureau Australia John Noble said that demand for champagne was "exceptionally high" in Australia, with the country having some of the highest rates of consumption in the world. It's so intense right now that alcohol retailers like Dan Murphy's are limiting 12 bottles per purchase - I'm crying at how bizarre this sounds.

It doesn't stop there, according to Coles, NSW residents favourite Christmas food is WA Rock lobster and sparkling. What happened to living the prawn and beer life?

Champagne exports to Australia increased by 11.2 per cent last year — 8,512,000 bottles were sent to the country, which is ranked the sixth country in the world for champagne exports!

Popularity for champagne spiked since the beginning of the Pandemic, maybe people were drinking fancier to feel something in their empty and sad lockdown lifestyle.

From toilet paper to champagne? Wow, we've come a long way!

So if you're a champagne drinker too, or just want to find out what all the fuss is about you can still do so by grabbing some from Liquorland. They're also offering a $20 off when you use your Student Beans code. Saving while you splurge on fancy drinks? It's a yes from me.
