Get Paid $4,000 To Give Up Social Media

Contemplating a social media detox? I mean, if I was getting paid $4,000 to do I’d definitely be more motivated to go through with it!

If you’ve found yourself needing a break from social media for mental health, physical health or any other reason then this side-hustle might be something you should consider.

What is the job?

This company called Uptime is looking for someone willing to delete Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and Youtube cold turkey! Officially titled the "social media quitter" they want to understand that if one quits their socials how it would affect your behaviour, productivity and how you would spend your downtime. Plus, they also want to track your happiness levels whilst not spending your free time on the apps you would regularly use to "doomscroll". Don't worry it's not forever, just 2 months.

In their study, they want to highlight how much learning and using your time productively can result in better wellbeing and self-growth, contrary to the overwhelming amount of time we spend online.

What qualifications do you need for the job?

My favourite part is that this is a one in a million opportunity where you don't need work experience to land this gig. All they require is you be 18 or older, and be a confessed "social media lover," with at least four profiles on either Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Snapchat, or YouTube.

How much does the job pay?

For the 2 months, you stay off social media, you will get paid £2,000 (Approx $3800) Plus, they will also pay you $50 a month to cover expenses for memberships or online resources that improve well-being and development.

If you're keen to make money other ways, there is also an opportunity where you can get paid $6k to watch game shows, and we have also created a guide to how to get rich if you accidentally went viral on social media.

How do you apply for this job?

All you have to do is apply for the role here. The deadline to apply is 21st February and they have said they will pick the best applicant soon after as they are keen to get the ball rolling on this one!

Fingers crossed you get picked!
