These Are The Fashion Trends That'll Be Big In 2022

Some I'm excited about, but some comeback predictions have me too stunned to speak.

2021 was all about comfort and not going to lie my wardrobe consisted mostly of sweatpants and fuzzy hoodies because when 99% of the time at home, who wears anything else?

However, if November and December have been a little trailer to what next year is going to look like we all will have to upgrade to something cuter and fashunnn is making a comeback in our lives baby!

Here are some of the trends that experts have predicted will give you main character energy.

Boxy & Oversized goodness.

Never been more grateful for a trend, oversized looks dominated 2021 and look like it's here to stay. However, fashion enthusiasts have learned how to give structure to oversized looks and you'll see more of that structure to oversized looks next year.

Crop Tops

I like how in 2021, crop tops showed versatility and Tik-Tokers gave us inspiration on how there are thousands of ways you can style crop tops and make this trend more body inclusive. So I'm not mad that crop tops are here to stay.

A little Monochrome love

If you've always been more of a black/white rather than a colour person, it's your time to shine, because black and white is the way to go next year. For the colour lovers your whole outfit doesn't have to be monochrome, just adding a little of it to your outfit can go a long way (not me thinking - COW PRINT!)

Then again everything goes with black and white so to follow this trend should be fairly easy!

Year of Purple

I've never been more excited about the Pantone colour of the year. You know how they say that people whose favourite colour is purple make their entire personality about it? That's because this colour deserves that kind of hype.

Plus this specific purple will work so well with summer and winter fits - love love love it!

Platforms

More height and comfort is what's in store. Combat boots dominated 2021, and now it's time to take it one more step forward - platform boots.

Ariana Grande, Jungkook from BTS, Harry Styles, Zendaya amongst many others were seen rocking these babies and it's time you do too.

Femme Suits

Yes, more women need to be investing in suits, so I'm just glad femme suits are becoming mainstream because more brands will make them + they'll be more affordable options on the market.

Fitted, soft colours, options with skirts and the luxury of not layering too much to look stylish.

Best believe I will be buying a version of Justin Beiber's Peaches MV suit- femme version for myself!

Wide-Leg Pants

Baggy jeans were back and now wide-leg pants are back as well. One of the best things you can do for your wardrobe is by mixing it up with some trousers so you're not always wearing jeans (I'm guilty of this!)

Plus, wide-leg and crop tops are a match made in heaven and a double whammy in being stylish in 2022.

60’s and 70’s psychedelic vibes.

It might be a good idea to start raiding your parents’ closets because the 60s and 70s are back in a big way. Psychedelic prints, hippie-inspired looks, bohemian vibes, bold colours, and knitwear were all seen on spring ‘22 runways. Everything that was once old is new again, right?

The madness has already begun! Everywhere you look you'll see swirly patterns and bold colours. So if black and white is not your thing, dont worry the trend report for 2022 has options which is nice!

Ballet pumps

I am not excited about this one, low waist jeans and ballet pumps need to stay in the archives...

Regardless, they're going to be making a comeback next year, you can already see them all over Tik-Tok.

We can blame celebs like Lilly Rose Depp to bring them back, I'm just hoping they'll be styled in a way that will blow my mind and be worthy of a comeback. Although, I can't imagine it, can you?

If you're a wise one and made it this far, you are R-E-A-D-Y for next year bestie! We can't wait for you to put your best foot forward and be a gorgeous gorgeous person!
