Everything You Need To Know About Bali Scraping Quarantine For Aussies
The best news you can wake up to Australia's fav vacation spot is open for business!
We love Bali for many reasons - the food, the culture, the scenery and the fact that it's one of the most budget-friendly tropical destinations for Aussies.
Till very recently, Bali had opened its borders for Australian travellers, however, if you wanted to travel to Bali you had to go through the dreaded quarantine for 5 days (at your own expense!) regardless of your vaccination status.
Quarantine wouldn't be as bad because you could quarantine with by your private pool and sipping cocktails so it wasn't all that bad but still you would be forced to have a staycation.
However, as of March 7th, Bali's Deputy Tourism Minister Angela Tanoesoedibjo said that the quarantine requirement has been scrapped and fully-vaccinated international travellers can visit quarantine-free!
Bali suffered crazy losses because of the pandemic since a lot of their economy relied on tourism - 54% to be precise.
However, travel amidst the pandemic is not as straightforward as it used to be there are still some extra steps you will have to take before you travel to Bali. We've broken them down for you, you're welcome!
Travellers will need to show proof of being fully vaccinated
Travellers will need to procure a negative PCR test before flying.
Travellers will need to take another test when they land in Denpasar and proof of a minimum four-day hotel booking.
Travellers will need to show $100,000 worth of travel insurance to cover any costs if they catch the virus whilst travelling.
If you do test positive once you're in Bali, you will be required to quarantine for 4 days - explains the mandatory 4-day hotel booking rule,
Seems pretty reasonable considering this is the new reality of travelling!
In other good news, your tourist visa will now only cost $47, which is a bargain compared to the cost of the visitor visa being $329 pre-pandemic.
Currently, these are rules only applicable to Bali, however, if the numbers continue to decline you'll be able to move freely around the rest of Indonesia.
