A New 'Percy Jackson' Series Is In Development at Disney+
Percy Jackson fans, you are finally getting the screen adaptation you’ve been asking for.
For those who haven’t had the opportunity to read the Percy Jackson series, the story follows the protagonist as he discovers he is the half-human son of Greek god Poseidon and how he navigates through his adventures as a demigod.
Rick Riordan announced earlier this week, saying “We can't say much at this stage but we are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one.”
There have been movie adaptations of The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters in the past but fans were not totally impressed and definitely not satisfied. Unlike before, this time Rick Riordan and Becky will thoroughly involved in creating the show with Disney+. Hopefully, that means, this series will actually do justice to the brilliant books series.
Since the news has been announced, fans are flooding twitter requesting Logan Lerman be cast as Poseidon this time around. After he played the Percy Jackson back in 2013, they now think he'll be perfect for the role of Poseidon.
For now, there is no official news on casting, neither is there an official release date announced. However, that means, we have time to re-read the series and refresh our knowledge on everything Percy Jackson!
