Spaghetti is every student’s holy-grail and its so easy to make, it’s basically fool-proof. However, if you’re going to eat it 5 times a week, it would be nice to get it just right every time right?

Jamie Oliver basically said all you have to do to help your spaghetti cook evenly is flick your wrist, give the spaghetti bunch a twist before dropping it into the pan so it fans out.

This tip helps it cook evenly and also helped the annoying moment when you realise your spaghetti is sticking to each other. We’re team “spaghetti fan” already!

1. Always salt the pasta water, it can make a world of a difference to the flavour. However, only add it after the water is boiling not before.

2. Use a big pot, if you give your pasta room to cook which in turn will help it cook evenly as well as not overcook.

3. Save some of the pasta water, you might not use all of it but it always makes for a great addition when you add the pasta to the sauce.
