How Will the Trans-Tasman Travel Bubble Work?
Here’s everything you need to know about the Trans-Tasman travel bubble will work with New Zealand.
After what feels like 1000 years, the New Zealand and Australian governments have both FINALLY agreed to a Trans-Tasman travel bubble between the 2 countries, as long as covid cases stay low.
When will you be able to travel to New Zealand?
Dates have not been set in stone at the moment but from the looks of it. However, at the very earliest, you can aim at visiting your friends and family in New Zealand in the first quarter of 2021 without the need to quarantine for 14-days (yay!)
Prime Minister Arden mentioned, that we should know the exact dates in the new year once all the boring nitty-gritty is agreed upon.
What will be the plan if covid tries to take over our lives again?
If covid decides to bully us back into our homes again, then both countries would lay down some pretty strict and fast quarantine, with lots of efforts to get citizens back to their home countries. If that happens, the active cases will have to drop to 0 for 28-days in order to restart the travel bubble.
Not going to lie, we’re the closest we’re ever been to normal and safe international travel so simply having to wait for specific dates and details seems like a Christmas miracle.
