Domestic Flights Will Be Slashed To Half-Price To Encourage Travel In Australia

It’s our lucky day because the Aussie government is trying to incentivise people to travel domestically and our wallets have never been happier!

The Australian government has promised to cut the price of domestic flights for 3 months, but only to 13 select locations!

Pumping in $1.2 billion to boost domestic tourism, so they’re as keen as us for us to travel ( you can read that again!). For now, we know that flights to these places will be half-price - the Gold Coast, Cairns, the Whitsundays region, the Sunshine Coast, Uluru, Alice Springs, Launceston, Devonport, Burnie, Broome, Avalon, Merimbula and Kangaroo Island.

We don’t have exact dates and details, but it’s believed around 46,000 seats will be heavily discounted every week with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia and the sale is set to go live sometime next month. If you want to put some numbers then you can estimate a flight from Melbourne to Gold Coast to cost only $60, it’s a yes from us!!

If you’re in Melbourne like us, the sunny destinations are tempting as hell. Who’s planning an autumn/winter getaway asap?
